Celebrity colorist Marco Pelusi leads her to the light

At 5’ 11” with 41-inch legs and a rock-solid body, Dancing With the Stars’ Stacy Keibler is a popular target for paparazzi and a red carpet regular. Recently, in preparation for an appearance on E Entertainment, the blonde bombshell decided to take it up a notch in the haircolor department. So she turned to her mane color man, celebrity stylist Marco Pelusi of Marco Pelusi Hair Studio in West Hollywood, to lead her toward the bright.
“Summer is ending in most parts of the country,” says Pelusi, “but it never ends here in L.A. So with lots of events and appearances on her upcoming schedule, Stacy asked me to really amplify her summery blonde color.” Pelusi’s first stop was his salon dispensary, where he grabbed his favorite lightening products from the Joico Vero K-PAK color portfolio. “Stacy and I both believe that with Joico, we can really ‘blonde’ her hair without damage,” Pelusi comments. “When we’re finished, it still feels like hair—soft, healthy and manageable. And that marries perfectly with my personal philosophy about maintaining the quality and integrity of my clients’ hair no matter what.”
For Stacy’s most recent blonding session, Pelusi mixed three formulas: Joico Vero Blue De-Dusted On/Off Scalp Lightener with 30-volume developer; VeroColor 9N + 40-volume developer and VeroColor High-Lift Natural Blonde + 40-volume developer. He placed each formula in extremely small weave sections throughout the head, alternating each one and leaving very little hair between foils. For extra intensity, he concentrated the Vero Blue formula in Stacy’s fringe area. The result, says Pelusi, is high-impact, but still a realistic-looking progression from the celeb’s natural Level 7 shade. And when Stacy left his salon, he says, “She was truly red carpet-ready!”
